Photographer’s Note

This is one of many original buildings relocated & restored in the Edo Tokyo Open Air Museum (Tatemono Hakubutsukan). The Edo-Tokyo Museum is to preserve the historic heritage of the city of Tokyo and its precursor Edo continuing for 400 years.

Apparently Miyazaki was inspired, after a visit to this museum, in creating "Spirited Away".

This shot was taken at mid-day, so the picture is slightly washed out. I tried to correct the color saturation and contrast in photoshop.

This place is a very serene part of Tokyo, especially in December. There were only a few Japanese people walking around, as well as a few artists out doing sketches & watercolours.

Good capture!
I feel nostalgic very much, on wooden board wall and roofing tiles of the wooden house.
This is a old Japanese-style bar named Kagiya in Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectual Museum.

I like the subject, but the horizontals are too distracting. I think Hispic did a great workshop on this. I'd also have been tempted to nuderexpose, and try to retrieve the detail in post processing, as I'm sure there is a lot of detail in the wood that has got a bit washed out....?
