Photographer’s Note

This is a kind of storehouse(härbre) for keeping grain and animal feed. They are common in the provnices of Halsingland and Dalarna and nowadays when they are not used for the original purpose they are often rebuilt to summer cottages. The same kind of building are also common in Norway (stabbur) and in Finland (aitta). A Spanish hórreo or a Portugese espigueiro is in principle the same kind of building.
