117- 3 Years on TE Photo

Photographer’s Note

Sunday 30th August is actually my 3rd anniversary on TE, but I won't have much time to edit a new posting ,so I am doing it a little bit in advance!
What can I say about this event? That I hope there will be many more anniversaries, because it's a really enjoyable site with all the convivial atmosphere enhanced by beautiful illustrations! Many thanks to all of you!

7 am, August 14th 2008, we got up early to catch the morning ferry that would take us from Roscoff Brittany to Plymouth England. As usual, we have to join in the queue of cars, before we can enter the big belly of the ship! Just as we were waiting, this SUNRISE caught my eye, and I couldn't resist taking a photo. It makes a change from the more usual sunsets!

Between the cranes and the seagulls is the silhouette of the ship's chimney!

"Bloscon" deep-water port in Roscoff, north Finistère was constructed between 1970-72. Before that, there was nothing but a wild coast.
The port and the company "Brittany Ferries" deal with a great part of trans-Channel traffic to Great Britain and Ireland.
The ferries carry many passengers of course, as well as all sorts of goods, especially vegetables coming from the nearby region "Léon": Artichokes, cauliflowers, onions, chalottes, tomatoes....

Pravi trenutak da se napravi dobar snimak. Dobra fotografija,blage boje,tmurno nebo i kranovi koji svojom ostrinom daju car ovoj kompoziciji.

Une atmosphère portuaire bien rendue par ce cadrage bas et ces tonalités du ciel et ses formations nuageuses aux teintes renforçant l'effet.

congratulations!:) 3 years is a lot!
the photo is very unusual, I should say...! to me, these cranes look like fantastic creatures from God only knows what planet :) Interesting effect with the colours and contrast light. I especially like the inclusion of the birds sitting in a row on the left :)) IMHO, they add a touch of something unusual (I can't understand yet, of what exactly, though)...

first of all congratulation on the occasion of your anniversary. You are right, TE is really an enjoyable site!
This image shows a situation I also have experienced many times: waiting at the ferrry and watching what is going on. Very nice backlight and beautiful silhouettes. And I really enjoyed reading your note! It makes me want to go to Brittany as soon as possible!

Me revoilà !!! les vacances sont finies et on doit reprendre le collier... Voilà un petit moment que je n'ai pas pris ce moyen de transport pour traverser la manche. Joli contre jour sur ces grues si familières sur les ports de commerces. La floppée de goélands sur la gauche est la bienvenue. Belle photo pour fêter ces 3 ans sur TE et merci pour Gilles en WS... ses photos nous manquent.

sei riuscita a creare una composizione poetica con il profilo di una grù! (:-) Ma questa è la magia della fotografia (o del fotografo?)
Sì, queste siluhette nere contro un bel cielo dai caldi colori dell'alba hanno un aspetto misterioso. L'occhio del fotografo sa trovare aspetti interessanti dovunque.

Jusqu'à ce qu'une grue peut faire une belle photo si vous êtes pris avec brio, comme vous l'avez fait. Certes, l'aide beaucoup le beau ciel et les oiseaux sur le toit donne cette note de vie.

Joyeux anniversaire Marie-Louise !
Cette photo est un peu un feu d'artifice pour fêter ça. J'aime beaucoup les grues en contre-jour sur ce ciel d'une grande beauté. On dirait des oiseaux sur le faîte du toit de gauche.

ce beau contre-jour est un bon symbole pour célébrer ton troisième anniversaire sur TE. Mes félicitations!
L'effet de cette image et les silhouettes des grues sur le ciel doré il est fantastique, et j'aime spécialement le détail des mouettes dans le toit à gauche du cadrage.
Tes WS sont intéressants aussi, et tu as eu un joli détail en offrant un hommage sincère pour le disparu ami Gilles.

un cadrage intéressant, des silhouettes qui contrastent sur le ciel parsemé de nuages et lumière matinale agréable.
Les photos dans le ws donnent une bonne idée de la taille du ferry.
