Photographer’s Note
Batal is a scenic village situated at the foot of the Kunzum Pass in Lahaul and Spiti District, Himachal Pradesh. It lies at an elevation of about 3,960 m.The region is a very windy and dusty place. Batal offers inspiring views of a slender triangular peak to the south and the Bara Shigri Glacier. Chandra Dhaba in Batal is the only place where one can find mortals. The area surrounding it is desolated.
