Photographer’s Note
Those Scenic Caves are located at the highest point of the Niagara Escarpment, on Blue Mountain.
They were carved millions of years ago by the glacial ice.
Set against the backdrop of sheer limestone cliffs, these caves plunge hundreds of feet into the depths and OPEN OUT into passageways and reveal rock formations from other era.
One cave is so deep that snow and ice remain there all year round defying summer's hottest days.
Excavations from 1975 to 1978 by archeologist Charles Garrand confirm that the French explorer Samuel De Champlain visited the site wich was on the premises of Hurons's village of Eukarenniondi.

Hi Robert,
Wonderful shot in this very difficult light.
Love the way the lightgives us varying shades of lush green and tranquil shadows.
The two hikers add effective scale to this unique composition.
Apparently there is alot to see in Ontario.
Regards, Tom

Hello Robert,
Without the two guys this would be incomprehensible, with them it is a very original photograph of a strange place!
Awesome play of light, a balanced composition and fine details...
The people add scaling and interest value!

Bonsoir Robert,
La distribution de la luminosité est vraiment captivante et produit des contrastes forts agréables. Ces aventuriers sont une réfence quant à la taille de ces grottes et cavernes. Le vert et le gris s'harmonisent très bien ensemble. Note utile également.
Bonne semaine!
Amicalement
Denis!
