Photographer’s Note
Piazza Dei Miracoli is the central square in Pisa, famous and much photographed already, I know, but as well as the tower it also hosts the beautiful round battistero (baptistry) and cathedral which are also included in this shot.
It was extremely hot and extremely busy with visitors, but still worth it to see this beautiful and iconic site for real.
PP - have cropped it and corrected some barrel distortion

Leon,
Your composition is nice using an angle that allows us to see each of these buildings. The people add a sense of scale to the scene as well as life. The lighting and colors are great as is the sharpness and detail.

Hello Leon,
A well chosen point of view to capture this lovely ensemble of architecture; the eyes move effortlessly from one building to the next after lingering over the lovely architectural detail. The people contribute much to the atmosphere and provide a good sense of scale. Excellent natural looking colours and wonderful clarity.

Hello Leon,
you have chosen an interesting POV here as the usual thing is for shots featuring the Leaning Tower as the main point of interest.Good exposure and sharpness wih a nice light and colours. From this POV the crowds are not in the way of the architecture.
best regards,
Bev

I feel the people are far enough away to negate the busy feeling you mention. The architectural detail is stunning, and just look at that blue sky that we could do with right now! From this POV it looks as if the Leaning Tower is peeping out behind the other buildings as if it was hiding like a naughty child. well done

Hi Leon,
Good to see Pisa's lesser known monuments... these look really great too actually... the people give an idea of the size (huge)! Light colors and sharpness are quality too!

Hello Leon,
A less usual shot, but no less interesting, of Pisa.
Your pov is great, giving a good sense of perspective and making the leaning tower appear, as if peeping, to get a better view of the photographer!
Fine, sharp details of the buildings.
Although you mention crowds, there seem to be just enough people to give atmosphere; the people also give a good sense of scale. How lucky that the person in the front is dressed in red!!
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Leon,
I love this original shot. I seen many photos of the leaning tower and the cathedral but I have seen few if any where the battisero is the main subject and the leaning tower is sort of hiding behind it and the cathedral. TFS and have nice evening!
Cheers,
Ulf
