Sleeping Beauty 2

There seems to be a lot of sleeping beauties in my archive.

This one I captured on the South-Peer in Ijmuiden.

Maybe this “beauty” was dreaming about catching a big beauty. Something someone did at the same time a few meters from him away. You can see the result in the workshop

But maybe he was dreaming about the Sleeping Beauty galaxy. This sleeping beauty may appear peaceful at first sight but it is actually tossing and turning. In an unexpected twist, recent observations have shown that the gas in the outer regions of this photogenic spiral is rotating in the opposite direction from all of the stars! Collisions between gas in the inner and outer regions are creating many hot blue stars and pink emission nebula.
