Photographer’s Note
The idea of trekking alone in Nepal never fail to shock my friends or people I met. Since maybe it's because of my gender. Although I told them I'll be with a guide.
One of the most interesting part from traveling alone, I always end up with new friends. Especially, trekking in Nepal. You don't even have to arrange in advance, you'll met them on the way. You end up walking the same trail, staying at the same guest house and share your food, playing cards, swap books and take care of each other when you're sick. Some even stay behind for you.
These four boys I met approaching Chame ( third day trekking ) are some people that I met during my Annapurna circuit and become friends. We hang out for almost a month, or bumped into them all the time until the last night before I catch my flight back home.

Dear Artesia,
Your photo and note moved me. I am indeed also presured into not travelling alone in foreign areas which I am really eager to visit!
about the photo itself, I would say it is truely great. I love the colors, I feel like I am there. Also: it is so peaceful and yet exciting at the same time. Somehow, it reminded of the Hobbit (by Tolkein) on their quest.
well done! Anne-Sophie

Hello Artesia,
This lush, green road is not quite what I expected from the Annapurna region – on the other hand I know that Nepal has a very varied nature. The trekkers are nicely lined up, and their blue and red items are fine colourful additions.
I didn't do much trekking, but your description how you bump into the same people here and there reminds me of the main road through Asia from Turkey to India, and even beyound, in the 1970's. All backpackers were going the same way, staying at the same cheap hotels, eating at the same restaurants etc.
Kind regards,
Gert
