Blackrock in the evening Photo

Photographer’s Note

Hi there,

The shot I've uploaded today was taken in Blackrock few days ago before sunset. I really like experimenting with the light, but those of you who have visited my gallery have surely noticed this. Anyway the find effect pleased me here so I have decided to upload it and hear, what you think ;)

A fashionable watering place and seaside resort in the eighteenth century, the town of Blackrock gets its name from the black rock that lies offshore and once marked the city limits. An ancient cross still stands in the main street.
The town boasts the famous Blackrock College, whose past pupils include Eamon de Valera and rock star Bob Geldof.

A beautiful view in this wonderful light. I love the combination of the warm light and the dark clouds. You chose a really good, low POV too and the pattern of the water and sand in the foreground looks great as well. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Dariusz! You are making excellent use of these amazing patterns in the sand, this time with more sea water. Again amazing clouds that we all dream of, okay they may send some raindrops here and there :))) but who actually cares. There is a good "movement" in the clouds that I like a lot. Hello Darek,
A most beautiful image looking over the wet sand towards the sea. The light is just perfect to bring out the 'sculptures' in the sand, whose ripples seem to mirror the dramatic sky above. I like very much the wedge of golden sky on the left with its beautiful mirrored reflection. Really, a lovely photograph beautifully presented.

Hi Dariusz,
A phantastic phot with excellent light mnagement. The low POV and the layer of clouds give an impression of creating a tunnel effect, resulting in a strong sense of depth.
I think this will go in my favorites.

This is stunning! I love the way the (almost) side-light is illuminating the ripples in the sand. That in itsself could probably make an abstract image. There's one thing about living in these islands of ours and that is the interesting clouds we get. Here you have such variety in the sky: clouds of all colours seeming to radiate from a point in the middle: blue sky: orange sky. The only teeny tiny niggle is the central horizon, but I don't know which half of the image would have to be sacrificed to rectify that. Maybe there's no need; it's just me hung up on rules probably, but something to think about another time. As I said at the beginning - stunning image!

Another superb shot. Apart from the light which gives so much atmosphere to the scene, I just love the contrasts of the foreground and how the last rays of sunshine seem to just touch the tops of the ripples.

no Panie kolego tutaj to juz chyba przeszedles samego siebie! Tekstura tej plazy oraz niebo powalaja na kolana! Swietna ostrosc i pora tez wlasciwa bo swiatelko mi sie podoba oj podoba i ta niebieskawa poswiata rowniez. Od dawna marzy mi sie sfotografowanie czegos podobnego. Excellent inspiration! The motives of the sand seem to reproduce the pattern of the clouds in the sky; or is it the contrary? Anyway, this double perspective that direct our looks to horizon, has a strong impact. And the hues of colors are beautiful. Congratulations;

Clouds rendered gently and softly, and the pattern lit up with the low sunlight in the foreground have been captured with a nice harmony. I like this fine sharpness and superb definition. Beautiful image indeed!

As I already told you, every time I look at your photos I have some difficulty in choosing one of them... and as I'm pretty slow and backwards in my reviewing them there are a lot that meet my tastes.

Here the coupling of an incredibly attractive and low sky with this incredible too seashore create a stunning effect wich made me stay with my mouth open.
The sense of infinite space is amazing and - as you say - the light is a marvel.
