Photographers Note
Cheetham Wetlands consists of lagoons and saltmarsh of varying salinity levels created through the activities of a Saltworks that used to operate in the area. Deliberate creation of a number of relatively shallow ponds provides an environment which attracts many birds who like to feed on vegetation, insects, larvae and other small animals both in the water and on the pond floor. The Wetlands are protected, through international agreements, as important habitats for wildlife.
This shot was taken from the Wetlands, just before sunset, it was that golden glow that I saw as very attractive.

Hello Santo,
The lonely tree theme... Australian style!
The evening light gives a fine touch to the scene, making everything look warm and inviting...
The composition with the city skyline in the background makes this a lonely tree - or rather three lonely trees out of the ordinary!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Ciao Santo. The scene brings back memories of the strange wildlife excursion. Wonderful light and poetic composition where the trees are transformed into an elegant natural coppery sculpture. If I remember well, the dandenong ranges are on the right edge. Regards. Klaudio. Credo che ci vediamo a presto.Klaudio.

Hello Santo,
I remember of course this fantastic view of the skyscrapers seemingly standing in the middle of wilderness. I agree that this golden glow is the ingredient that really makes this picture.
Kind regards,

Ciao Caro Santo, the light in this photo tells me I can be no other place but Australia. It's like something out of a Heysen painting. Great DOF to show us that Metropolis of yours too. The trees seem to be leaning towards it aswell as framing it. Excellent work, Lisa.

This one has turned out superbly, Santo.
The burnished tones of the light falling on the trees and grass make for a very mellow mood which reflects the time of day. The leaning bough nicely frames the city. Even better than your previous shot from this location, I think. I'll have to sift through my shots and see if I can find another worth uploading.

Andrew

Hello Santo,
The trees almost form a repetitive rhythm and make an interesting subject for your foreground. The last few minutes of warm light performed magic. It lits up the entire levelled plain and highlight the tree trunks beautifully, this is what makes this shot so much better than your earlier shot taken at almost the same place. I have been paying special attention to see if there is a Koala on the tree by any chance:)))
A superb job!

Hi Santo,
the main feature of this wonderful impression is indeed the light! It is incredibly beautiful as it is shining on this fascinating place! As already mentioned this amazingly lonely tree creates an almost outback-like atmosphere This image is a pleasure for the eyes. TFS!

Hi Santo,
I like the posture of these trees to make the scenery quite and tastefully laid out, the city in the depth is another vision attraction, nice color and lighting, full in poetic flavour, good shoot.

Santo,
What can I say. You have captured the evening light beautifully. I really like how the simple tree frames the CBD in the distance and asserts its own importance in the face of the concrete jungle. Excellent composition.
Thanks for sharing

Hey Santo,
Re-visited I see. A great view, with the skyline in the bg, dwarfed by teh tree and the sky, you can still see that Melbourne holds an impressive skyline though. Nice lighting and colors of course.
Best regards.

Hello Santo, this is gallery work, very nicely done. The trees, as well as standing out with that awesome colour againt that great blue sky make a perfect frame for the city in the background. Your overall composition, great contrasts, the lighting and colour in this one are excellent; your technique on sharpening gives it a very dramatic look.
Thanks, enjoyed! John
