Kosovo - Lonely tree Photo

Photographer’s Note

First of all, I have to announce that this picture was taken in KOSOVO,but I didn't find this state in the list of TE

I found a barrage closely the border Kosovo-Montenegro, dont know the name of this one

I wanted to post this, because there,in this place I met Kosovo Force (KFOR).
Believe me ,when they stopped near me their car.... with all official signs and I was down from car trying to make a picture from that place, I thought that they will take my camera, because every where were signs saying the photos are not allowed .

A big surprise was for me when the guys came out from the cars arranging their guns ....and saying in Romanian " Hello, what are you doing here?"(Salut, ce faceti pe aici)

Only in that moment I realized that they are ROMANIAN and they helped us to cross the Montenegro's border quickly being our escort, after a long and nice chat about they military job in KOSOVO.

That's brilliant! The composition is excellent, with the double arch of the bridge and the hill. You framed it very well. The colors are splendid. The lonely tree, in this gigantic scenery, is eye-catching. And your note is breath-taking. Congratulations!

This is the event you told us that night, isn't it?
Well travelling in the Balkan peninsula should sometimes be an adventure.
You were really lucky for travelling with your car, you were free to take whatever you liked. Very nice minimal landscape and architecture compo here. I like it :)

Salut Isabela,
This is a very nice composition; simple, but really beautiful!
About the location, today in my note I referred that TE database is not uptodate and have a few things that are not logical or not correct. Anyway, Kosovo is not recognized as independent by all countries. So, for some countries and authorities, Kosovo is still ("de jure") part of Serbia. In TE we find photos of Kosovo within Serbia.
About the real location of the photo (and barrage), according to the maps and satellite view, the main road between Kosovo and Montenegro seems to be the E80/E65, that goes from Mitrovicë to Montenegro but passing first through serbian territory. Is there, between the border Kosovo-Serbia, that we see the Ujmani/Gazivode Lake (or barrage); Click here to see a bridge on that barrage, which shadow seems to be from a bridge like your photo (zoom out to see the location).
About the sign in WS, it is very much used in Germany, at least. I guess it is German influence in Kosovo.

very good composition here. except that, nothing really catching my eye here, but still, it's very correct shot.
The lake is Gazivode lake. Kosovo is usually posted under Serbia section on TE. cheers.

Nu am prea vazut stilul asta de imagine in albumul tau pana acum, dar imi place foarte mult. Multe elemente geometrice simple,dar care formeaza impreuna o imagine reusita.
