Photographer’s Note

The time i spent in that charming town among the mountains in the Rif valley was idyllic . I wonder if the mood in there have changed since that ...Maybe the globalised and disorganised tourism had eroded and took away part of the magnetism in Xauen ...as it has happened in many other parts of Morocco . Just take a bus from the quaint sleazy bus station in Tangiers , pay no more than 3-4 Euro and embark in a fascinating adventure crossing through astounding landscapes (similar to the Grazalema and Ronda valleys in Andalucía) , just a quick stop to change the third regional cathegory bus in the fatal white dove of Tetouan , a dark and dusty bus station filled up with crooks and all sorts of Chukryan characters for the perfect film or novel ...Then the latest bus to Chefchaouen , it may be raining , slopes , green valleys and a the real feel of not belonging to your own body forgetting about you were just memorising things that does not serve to the new world you are just entering ...Then the bus station in Chefchaouen , just on the lowest bottom of a hill , nothing blue (so far ...)...Then looking for the old medina , Uta El Haman square and a new world with a more slowly tempo , new fragrancies , the basil flooding the atmosphere , the Basque hefty woman who ownes a pension , blue , cats paradise , kifi , tea , rasta ,take care bro ..., (b)guaja !, take it easy ...and more blue ...I thought it was the most fascinating city in the world but i wonder the shape it shows right now ...if the place is the same as it was or it , like everyone of everything has the capricious or not so ...right to change ...
