Photographer’s Note

The original Cathedral was started in 1037 by Prince Yaroslav. It took several decades to build it. It was demolished during the Tatars invasion in the 13th century. Petru Mogila initiated reconstruction in 1633, and the works continued till 1740, when the Cathedral took its shape. It was called one of the wonders of Ukraine in 2007.

This is a great shot of this beautiful cathedral. Your POV was well chosen giving us a nice high vantage point. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The angle of the shot is great allowing us to see more than one side of the building. The sky is nice and provides a good backdrop for the shot.

This is such a beautiful cathedral, and your high POV gives us a great view of both the architecture and the grounds surrounding it. I really like the color scheme; the green and brown details of the cathedral perfectly compliment the green and brown on the ground. Very nice presentation and framing, too.

Hello Iaroslav,
You found a good high POV to get a complete view of the cathedral. From there we also get a good view on the different roofs, towers, and domes. It's wonderful that some towers and roofs are grassgreen.

Как мне не хватает Киев с Лаврой, как давно я там был!... С дней моих студенческих, а это давнехенько было...

Спасибо за изумителную точку зрения - видимо это снято с колокольной башни, которая тогда была недоступной. Спасибо за цвет, за небо, за остроту фокуса!
