Photographer’s Note
Silence...that's what I found here...in Henningsvaer, I even missed the ferry to Bodo to stay here longer:)
The village is situated at the foot of Mount Vågakaillen, and consists of a group of isles and islets spread out at random in the blue waters of the Vestfjord.
With the mountain at its back and otherwise surrounded by the sea, Henningsvær was a natural hub of activity during the Lofoten Winter Fishery, and in the 1800’s, the island community prospered, and Henningsvær became one of the most prominent fishing villages in Lofoten.
Unlike many other fishing villages, the population of Henningsvær has remained stable in recent years, and there are still over 500 people living there.
The islands were not connected to the rest of Lofoten by bridges until 1981, a fact that probably helped save the community from the contemporary style of architecture with its preference for concrete blocks, that otherwise left its mark on just about all other Norwegian towns and villages in the 60’s and 70’s.
We travelled along Lofoten in July and if you wish to experience relax, rest and peacefulness that's the most magical part of Norway.
Lofoten is an archipelago and a traditional district in the county of Nordland, Norway. Though lying within the Arctic Circle, the archipelago experiences one of the world's largest elevated temperature anomalies relative to its high latitude.
I've been there several times and anytime I was there it was around 20 - 24 degrees:)
I miss Lofoten so much that I decided to dig in my drawer and enjoy the views...

Good Morning, Gosia!
A marvellous capture of this breathtaking landscape! The colors are so vibrant full of harmony and the water brings mood into the picture. The colorful houses stand very well against the dark colored rocky mountains. The sharpness and POV is simply amazing. The framing is awesome. Wonderful composition overall.

Gosia,
This is a great shot of this fine Norwegian architecture and landscape. Your composition is great using the curve of the harbor to lead the eye through the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The mountains form a nice backdrop for the shot.

Hi Gosia.
Another fine, sharp picture of this very still and delightfully sunlit village. The mountains have a lovely pink hue to them. The water is so still, and the shadows on the buildings are superb. A very good exposure. This looks a wonderful place to visit. Nice work.

Hi Gosia,
Lovely panorama with good sharpness! I think the pointy mountains in the background have a similar shape to the peaked rooftops of the houses.
Cheers,

Hello Gosia,
The lovely Nordic summer light makes Henningsvær look very good here!
The rugged mountains make a fine background for the fishing village, and the point of view gives fine lines to the composition...
A great colour palette, sharp fine details!
