Photographer’s Note

I realize that this shot is not the prettiest one I have uploaded here, but the sign KEEP CLEAR made me think: WHY?
Why would anybody want to paint such a thing in front of a church?!
I came up with three possible explanations:
1: From this point of view the church does look like a rocket which is about to take off. In this context “KEEP CLEAR” is completely understandable.
2: People entering the church on Sunday morning may have still some dirty thoughts after Saturday evening (which is completely understandable taking into account how Irish girls dress for a party), so this is just to remind you to stay clear off distractions and focus on the prayer.
3: I had one more explanation in mind which relates to Irish Church and which would also explain the bars… but it is too serious to make jokes about so I will not mention it.

Ballaghaderreen is a busy Cathedral town of approximately 2000 population situated in the Roscommon County.

I think it's for traffic reason because the both side of ths door is for the disabled people to park. take easy. Great color and detail. Thanks for sharing.

C'est vrai que les filles irlandaises pour beaucoup ont à se faire nettes après les soirée du samedi !
J'aime beaucoup la lumière presque surnaturelle qui baigne cette église prise en contre-plongée comme une fusée avant son départ pour les cieux.

Duze brawa sie naleza za kreatywna obrobke. Podoba mi sie klimat za sprawa wycagnietych kolorow- zdjecie ma przyslowiowego "kopa" i przykuwa uwage na dluzej. I o to chodzi! Kompozycja oraz niska perspektywa faktycznie sprawily, ze wieza zaraz eksploduje w powietrze bez zalogi. Zdjecie duzo bardziej podoba mi sie od poprzedniego, choc znajac nasze odmienne gusta Ty pewnie myslisz inaczej ;)

I agree with Sven, I think it's for the traffic,to avoid the cars parking there. About the picture I can see you have made the same good use of your wide-angle lens as in your other pictures..This perspective gives to the building a big feeling of grandeur.

A beautiful shot if receding in perspective. I might have cropped off the "keep clear" as it tends to draw your eye to it instead of the church.
