Photographer’s Note
Durga puja is celebrated all over west bengal with full grandeur during the month of Sept-Oct every year. The making of clay idols of the goddess starts 2 months prior to that inside a traditionally ghinzy and dark potters’ quarter of north kolkata, known as kumortuli.By virtue of their artistic productions these potters have moved from obscurity to prominence.
Here is one such master craftsman carving a beautiful face of the deity out of clay.

Hi Dhurjati
A very good close up on the mast being created, very vivid thanks to the good exposure which was probably challenging in these dim light conditions
Have a nice day JY
