Photographer’s Note
One of the miracles of nature: the buffalo eats only grass, but makes rich milk - about 4 liters a day, I've heard. What a creature! These things can be rented in the Shaxi Valley for about $6/hour. But what would you do with a buffalo for an hour? These creatures have big, crescent-shaped horns. According to Orwell's Burmese Days, though, they're harmless. Still, I wouldn't want to get between a buffalo and his lunch!

I really like this composition and the way the colours complement each other - the grey of the man's clothing and the buffalo and the fresh green and yellow of the vegetation which really glows. The fact that the person is not shown entirely makes it very interesting to me.
The first time I went to India I was almost attacked by a buffalo after getting off a bus at 6:00 am. Nothing like that has happened on subsequent visits.
Thanks for a lovely picture.

Hi Josh
Great point of view. Good write up. I like all the green grass with the yellow flowers too. Funny to think such a big creature in going for a walk.
Thx,
Tosca
