Photographer’s Note
Photo taken at Buttes New British cemetary, a Commonwealth graveyard from the Great War of 1914-1918, located near Ypres in Flanders. There are 2,108 Commonwealth servicemen of the First World War buried or commemorated in Buttes New British Cemetery.
Over 900,000 soldiers lost their lives in the battles and trenches war around Ypres between 1914 and 1917 where the advance of German troops towards France was brought to a halt when Belgians flooded the plains of the river Yser.
No more of this...

i have a great interest in the GREAT WAR and have visited France and Belgium many times.
All the war cemetaries have a peacfulness that never fail to move you,the German cemetaries really are very sombre.
I like the composition and selective focus very much.

Hello Paul,
This one is a nice tribute to these soldiers. I like the way you present this cemetary, including the branch of flowers.
It seems a little bit blurred, perhaps because of the wind?
Nice bokeh and colours.
Have a good evening,
Marianne

Hi Paul.
Maybe in B&W? Try to do this and it will be better or, at least, the tombs in the B&W and the flower in colour...it's an opinion of course!

Hi Paul,
A wonderful tribute to all of those men and women that lost their lives in The Great War, and for what, some stupid bit of ideology and greed.
Thank you for reminding us all, once again, of the futility of war.
Regards
Peter

Hello my dear Paul
What a wonderful and shot!
Perfect calculated composition and very good combination of the sharp flowers and bokeh graves indeed. Light can be a little more strong but anyway--
Congratulation on your good job !

Hi Paul,
An image full of nostalgy but also of serenity and peace. A composition very well balanced with the crosses and the flower well located in the image.
Have a good day,
Darek

Salut Paul,
Bien vu ce cadrage dans les fleurs tout en laissant deviner le cimetière.

Hi Paul!
A good shot of this place. I like the flower with the spider's web in foreground and the graves in the blurred background. A good way to show the place.
