Photographer’s Note
This I bring not as a photo piece, but as traveling advice. If you need a reason for a tripod this would be it. So many interesting lighting opportunities presented for beautiful photos. But because I couldn't manage to brace the camera, I have very little to show of the many shots I tried. So, a tripod or other means of holding still a camera may have been worth your while here.
The other piece of advice is when in Chichen Itza catch the night light show. For some reason we didn't find this information wherever we read about the place. It wasn't until we we're eating at a local taqueria that the server suggested we pay and hurry up because we where about to miss the show.
We're really glad we did see the lights and the story on the loudspeaker explaining the history and leyends of the place. The night was dark and the sky filled with stars in this -middle of the jungle- place with so much history.
