Before the rain Photo

Photographer’s Note

Hi there,

Just before the rain an irish sky sometimes makes us some surprices, which you can see on the picture above. The heavy clouds almost touching your head, and then washing off everything with huge rain drops. I took this picture yesterday afternoon not too far away from Greystones (co.Wicklow).
It is a nice place for an interesting two hours nature walk. The area includes the rocks, relief, coastal erosion, flora and fauna. The trip normally takes place along the first 2km of the "Cliff walk", a 5km path connecting Bray Esplanade to Greystones Harbour.

Im new to TE so hopefully am doing everything according to the rules. Love this photo, I see what you mean about touching the clouds. The colours are lovely, like the way your eye is drawn into the photo by the point of land. Really nice photo

Me gustan mucho , pero mucho, esos cielos nublados tan dramaticos y si ademas lo acompañas con un paisaje de postal como este , mucho mejor.

dobra robota Panie kolego! Chmurki swietne, wydaja sie wedrowac z duza szybkoscia, a do tego bardzo naturalne. Foreground tez niczego sobie, zielono, ostro i wzrok prowadzi w glab az do doliny. Gratki.

Witaj, następne ładne miejsce do spacerów. Łubię lasy, ale taki otwarty teren, kiedy jest szeroka panorama i jeszcze widać morze
też jest atrakcyjny. Fjne chmury. a to miasto w dole to Dublin?

chmury wygladaja jakby pedzily, fajna perspektywa, piekny krajobraz z zielonej wyspy.

Hello Darek,
You do seem to have some wonderful skies in that part of Ireland. I like the low viewpoint with due prominence being given to that sky, which makes a fine contrast with the landscape below. Superb colours and clarity.

This is another image with an amazing Irish sky. I don't know if it is an effect of a wide angle lens, but the clouds seem to fan out from a central point. Excellent coastal image.

naprawde zadziwiasz mnie swoja kreatywnoscia. To miejsce owszem fajne -to jednak nie jest nazbyt bogate w krajobraz. Na Twoich zdjeciach za kazdym razem widze zupelnie inne oblicze tego miejsca. Znajac siebie -nie przystanalbym nawet w tym miejscu z aparatem.
Panorama wspaniala, naprawde opad szczeny. Ogromne bogactwo kolorow, doskonala glebia ostrosci. Piekne dramatyczne niebo.

Hello Dariusz,

I like images where the cloud formations seem to resemble the shapes of the landscape!
Interesting lines with a well defined X-shape, the sky is well exposed with fine details...
Strong foreground interest, good depth!

Hi Derek,
The wonderful explosion of clouds is matched by the excellent foreground detail of the cliff-side bluff with the sea and harbor enhancing the horizon. Too often fabulous skies lack the outstanding ground of this composition.

We have all benefited by your decision to replace smoking with photography; what a great idea!!
