This is another picture of the Nations’ Park but from a different point of view.

Pavillion of Portugal (The Pavilhão de Portugal) of the Expo´98 is situated near the north-east corner of the Molhe (pier) dos Olivais. The span between the building and the river-bank is covered by a balcony held by graceful pillars and forms a lateral porch fixed to the east façade.
This construction, made of concrete, was not assigned any determined use for after the event, so it required a great flexibility and versatility in terms of space, while its representative function demanded a clear and powerful image.

The building, rising on a north-south axis, is formed by two bodies separated by a construction joint.
The first unit is really a great ceremonial square flanked, on the north and south, by two large porticos lined with tiles of different colours, between which an extremely thin blade of concrete draws a curve, like a giant canvas.
The second body is a building of rectangular shape with a basement and two storeys. These three floors «grow» around a patio with earth on the ground, so as to allow trees to be planted.

A complentary body of two floors stands out from a corner of the building, separated from the main construction by a gallery.

Hola Aires,
You have never enough of shooting there ! and you even managed to find yet another good pov from where we get to see the futuristic shapes as well as the first signs of morning warming... and the early hour is a good alternative to a football match to have the place for yourself !

Hello,

grandiose image, que leffe, ces étoiles qui brillent, toute ces teinte du bleu-ver avec le rosé en fond, fantastique image, maîtrise de lumière et cette courbe que fait le béton, sueprbe.

muito bonita esta foto em que vc aproveitou a luz artificial que ilumina o portal e a mesclou com as cores do dia que nascia, as faixas de cores diferentes ficaram bem bonitas. lindo pov, enquadramento , luz e cores. bem feito e com um ar minimalista, parabéns

I like very much the graphism provided by the lines of the roof's structure...and the way, you have presented it, with one of its line creating a diagonal and a beautiful contrast with the blue sky.

Olá Aires.
Gosto desta tua digressão no parque das nações, não só pela luz mas sobretudo pelos enquadramentos.
Nesta foi tudo ao limite mantendo o ISO a 100.
Uma compensação postiva de 5 EV na exposição permitiu levar-te a um fstop de 22, mesmo assim 13 segundos...

Lindo este nascer do sol no parque das nações , gostei muito da mistura dos tons de cores azul verde e vermelho , ficou bem interessante a divisão do céu com o lençol de cimento em duas cores, parabéns!!

The framing with the building was a good idea. interesting how the colour of the sky is different on either side of the horizontal part of the gate. Beautiful pastel shades & like the star effect as wll because of your f-stop. Well done!

I was lucky to visit this place and was amazed by the architecture of Siza Vieira. Unfortunaly i didn't have the amzing color pallet that you show us here.
