Photographer’s Note
This is a shot of the natural entrance at Carlsbad Caverns. This would be from the inside looking out. If you look closely you can see a group of people in the ray of light which should help with perspective.
There are two ways to get into Carlsbad Caverns. One is the elevator from the Visitor's Center which takes you 850 feet straight down. The second, is to walk in via the natural entrance, the grade is pretty steep and the trail is long but it is worth it. Plus you aren't supposed to walk out so you get to ride the elevator anyway.
