Photographers Note
This is a panoramic view made of two pictures of the beautiful volcanic lake and hill near Konya, Turkey. The landscape was created by two volcanic explosions separated by hundreds of millions of years. While the crater of the first explosion created the beautiful lake, the second explosion is responsible for the little islands within it. The color of the lake changes depending on weather and soil conditions. This lake was also known as the "blue eye/evil eye" after the famous turkish glass beeds, yet the color of the water change significantly in the past few years because of low water amount. In fact, it was feared that the lake would dry completely due to the uncontrolled over-use of underground waters in the past decades. Luckily, the lake recovered significantly over the past year thanks to the above-average rain fall in the area.

There are so many photo submissions happening from Turkey...and believe me each entry is a marvel and brings out a new image of the place. Your's is one of the best one I have seen and the useful note is equally good.
