Photographer’s Note
This is the last little avenue leading to the gateway which one needs to walk to get out this imposing Amer Fort Complex in Jaipur.
Amber was originally built by the Meenas in the town they consecrated to Amba, the Mother Goddess, whom they knew as `Gatta Rani' or `Queen of the Pass' . Built over the remnants of an earlier structure, the palace complex which stands today was commenced under the reign of Raja Man Singh, Commander in Chief of Akbar’s army and a member of the Emperor's inner circle of nine courtiers, in 1592. The initial structure of the fort was entirely completed by his descendant, Jai Singh I.Amber was modified by successive rulers over the next 150 years, until the Kachwahas shifted their capital to Jaipur during the time of Sawai Jai Singh II.
The structure which is known today as "Amber Fort" was initially a palace complex within the original fort of Amber that is today known as Jaigarh Fort. Connected to Amber via fortified passages, Jaigarh Fort is located on a hill above the Amber complex, and is constructed of red sandstone and white marble. It overlooks Maotha Lake, and was reputed to be the treasure vault of the Kacchwaha rulers.
Like the entire fort complex, Amber Fort is also constructed of white and red sandstone. The Fort is unique in that its outside, an imposing and rugged defensive structure, is markedly different from its inside, an ornate, lavish interior influenced by both Hindu and Muslim (Mughal) styles of ornamentation. The walls of the interior of the fort are covered with murals, frescoes, and paintings depicting various scenes from daily life. Other walls are covered with intricate carvings, mosaic, and minute mirror work

Dear Aadiil! You have a WONDERFUL website, really well done, and I will return to visit and sometimes dive into a different world, away from my home. Thanks for showing and reminding us. Another interesting photo of yours, this one has an "antique" touch somehow, hard to explain, it has a patina, a long history, this is what comes over to me. Wonderful the yellow-orange again, softer in this one. Great photo ... Best regards, Barbara.

Hi Aadil
Usually I praise your talent without any reserve. I always find everything very beautiful, excellent and well mastered. And it becomes boring to write such comments because it is always perfect. Lol. But today, finally, I have something else to say to you than : excellent, marvellous, etc... Despite the munificence of the light, the well mastered frame, I think the charm of the sobriety doesn't work here. It's DEPRESSING, Aadil!!! Is it the POV? Because it goes down?! I don't know but it isn't as quiet as usual. I don't know why, but I would not like to walk there. Brrr... It gives a chill. And worst if I think about it at night. But that must be me, because everybody else seems very comfortable ("fantastic, marvellous, perfect...etc ")
Congratulations

Hi Aadiil,
Wouldn't it have been handy to have a tiny splash of light on the wall at the end of this corridor, I just want to see a little more depth rather than the almost black shape. You'll have to start carrying lights or a reflector with you now :)))
Lovely shot, your unmistakable style and colour palette, superb.

Hi Aadiil,
Your colours are honestly calibrated or at least, they look real.
I can see you've carefully framed these architectural details, where the light seems to bounce from one surface to the other, creating all sorts of nice ocre, mustard and yellow hues.
Cheers!
