i dont know why...
but this shot feels really incomplete. the idea of getting the hand in seems interesting, but it seems more like you had asked him to put it in the frame. it somehow doesn't seem very natural. also the colours somehow don't seem too good. there is a nice green in the middle but the rest of the frame seems too bland. but by now you know that i have a penchant for extreme tones ... :) so if this is the way you like then you should continue with it. as far as the mysterious scene is concerned.... hmmmmm it doesn really get my head going crazy trying to figure out the mysetery ( not that i know what the machine is) maybe you had the ingredients to create mystery , but seems like you haven't made optimum use of them.
i would add a touch of darkness for the mystery as far as the toning is concerned. as far as the composition is concerned.... i think you could have done a better job, or maybe the subject wasn't inspiring enough to get the best out of you
seeing the colours from here your other colours i find this one pretty bland
i hope you're not too disheartened by my critique. i'm just giving you my point of view :)
take care

Not sure about being imcomplete.
It's true that the ahnd on the right introduce a mistery in this shot. I wish i knew what the machine is? Do you have any idea what it is..
The colors, I must say, I like them a lot.

I think this is a good capture in general. Fantastic colours (love that green), and all those litlle yellows in the right side of the man.The arm on the right gives a mistery effect in all the compostition .I just thing the strange machine is a bit out of focus.Maybe it was meant to be that way i don´t know. In general i would say it is a good photo.

finally not a portrait, but a mystery story; what happened next. What does the machine do. Do we need to go the Baker Street and hire someone to find out?

What is that machine? I like the general comp, but I wish the disembodied hand were pointing to the machine, as it is it doesn't seem to serve a purpose.

Sometimes weird shots work sometimes not..it just doesn't for me here...why?
- the arm is not apparent enough, I wish you had taken his elbow curved like the wire above (I know it's difficult but great photos aren't easy, that's why they are great...)
- I guess it needed an angle, either coming from above or from below, but I think this is taken too "flatly" while you introduce some depth with the arm... hence the need for angle that would also enhance depth.
- stiff look in your eyes while this kind of shot must be fluid like...
- colors are great but competing too much with the touchy composition...
Just don't bother for the points we give or don't give you and keep it coming.
