Photographer’s Note
Not only is firewood in short supply, and it must be foraged for, often at great distances from the home, but it ulitmately must be transported by human power. And then add to this, the fact the inevitably it means either up or down steep slopes or both....it makes for and arduous way of life. Yet it appears to be fully accepted and taken in stride. We met these young ladies at the top of a steep rise and they were preparing for a rest stop, before their descent. After some fun exchanges, and laughter, they loaded their firewood back up, and just before leaving allowed a few photos of them in action.

Hi Steve,
Oh my, I thought it should be animals that are beasts of burden? This lady is obviously very strong and probably takes this in stride as life goes for her and her family. Nice capture and TFS. Gerald
