Photographer’s Note

San Pietro in Valle is a medieval abbey in the comune of Ferentillo in Umbria.

The Romanesque church houses some particularly fine Roman sarcophagi; the walls of the nave are decorated with a large cycle of good Romanesque frescoes. The monastery buildings are private property and today house a luxury hotel.

A lovely capture of this beautiful interior. I like the slightly off-centre point of view and the inclusion of the foreground monument, which gives a great sense of depth. The image has a very pleasing atmopshere.

Buongiorno Silvio,
grazie per l'ospitalità e per averci fatto scoprire altri splendidi luoghi dell'Umbria, come questo...ma soprattutto per la sempre cordiale compagnia dei brevi momenti che si trascorrono in occasione di questi incontri.
Molto belli gli affreschi restaurati, i pavimenti e il complesso id questa abbazia, ho anc'hio qualcosa da postare forse.
