Santibáñez el Alto (Santibañis l'Altu en extremeño) es un municipio de España, en la provincia de Cáceres, Comunidad Autónoma de Extremadura.

Santibáñez el Alto es un pueblo que fue creado con funciones defensivas, y en él se pueden ver vistas estratégicas. Sus calles son estrechas y en algunas partes laberínticas, y en ellas fluye el agua. En lo mas alto se encuentra la fortaleza, el corazón defensivo del pueblo.

Castillo y casco urbano: antiguamente conocida con el nombre de San Juan de Máscoras, Santibáñez el Alto conserva la mayor fortificación de toda la sierra de Gata. El castillo, así como el urbanismo de toda la villa, es de origen musulmán. En el castillo se reconocen tres etapas: la más primitiva corresponde a los siglos IX y X, sobresaliendo el alcázar, de origen musulmán y actualmente semi derruido. Esta era la "zona militar", con diferentes instalaciones, un patio y una torre que hoy, sigue en pie.

Santibanez Alto is a town that was created with defensive duties, and it can be viewed strategically. Its streets are narrow and labyrinthine in parts, and the water flowing in them. At the top is the fortress, the defensive heart of the village.

Castle and town: Formerly known as San Juan de Máscoras, Santibanez High defense kept the majority of the whole Sierra de Gata. The castle and town planning of the entire town, is of Muslim origin. In the castle recognizes three stages: the earliest is the ninth and tenth centuries, especially the palace of Muslim origin and now semi-demolished. This was the "military zone", with different facilities, a courtyard and a tower that today, still stands.

ce n'était pas évident avec l'ombre à droite, mais ta réalisation est superbe, un cadrage excellent avec ce ciel bleu qui assure le contraste et de belles couleurs

il POV che hai scelto è perfetto, la composizione è molto ben realizzata, fantastico il paesaggio che si vede attraverso l'arco e l'intenso blu del cielo. Trovo solamente la parte destra dell'immagine un pò troppo scura.

Merveilleux cadrage sur cet arche, quelle belle forme, génial comme tu as cadré, très beau travial, et ce bleu dégradé, avec le lampadire, quelle iamge, une merveille.

Bonjour Charo,
L'ombre du premier plan met en exergue les couleurs et le ciel. J'aime le réverbère et l'arcade. Une belle image. Bravo.

Un cielo azul profundo que me gusta mucho.
Il paisaje es muy agradable y los techos naranjos añaden un interes a tu foto, permitándonos imaginar el pueblo idealmente situado en este sitio encantador.
Me gusta tu manera de utilizar las piedras, con fuerte contraste.

Hello Charo,
The ancient archway makes a superb natural frame for that lovely blue sky with the landscape below that goes on forever and forever. The red roofs add a pleasing splash of colour and the lamp on the right makes a nice silhouette against the blue.

Charo, very nice set of photos here, the top one is great and the two ws work well to amplify it. The note is a good one also. Your capture shows the view from on high and it is really obvious as to why it would be a defensible position, great work.
