Casca D’anta Waterfall Photo

Photographer’s Note

Created to preserve the springs of the São Francisco River, the Serra da Canastra National Park has many tall cliffs, where we can admire the beauty of its many beautiful waterfalls. That type of landscape attracts those who like adventure sports, such as rappel, canyoneering, and cascading. The area also has other attractions, all signaled within the perimeter of the Park, and it is possible to get to them by car, on good dirt roads. The District of São Roque de Minas is one of the supporting points for those visiting the Park. There we find the best infrastructure for lodging and restaurants in the area of the Canastra Mountain Ridge. The best time of the year for visitation is from April to October, because the weather is less rainy, facilitating the access to the local attractions and making the rides more pleasant.

There are many beautiful landscapes in the Park. The most sought one are the spring of the São Francisco River and the upper and lower areas of the Casca D’anta waterfall (186m). Also part of the tour are the Rolinho Waterfall, the Garagem de Pedras, from where there is a full view of the Candidos valley; and the Babilônia Mountain Ridge. The place also has archeological sites in its northernmost area. There we can see paintings in the caves, bone needles, stone axes, and primitive pottery.

Muito bonita esta queda de água a sair da garganta apertada lá no cimo. O PdV é muito bom pois conseguiste apanhar a totalidade da queda. Eu teria passado a imagem por shadwos/highlights para dar mais pormenor à parede rochosa. Deixo um WS para dar a ideia do que estou a dizer.

The place is beautiful, this waterfall is really very impressive! Simple but effective composition, great, tight framing! The light conditions weren't the best possible, the sun wasn't at the right position, but still you managed the light pretty well under given conditions! Congratulations!

a verticalização da imagem sugere a amplitude do lugar.
Gostei da textura da água caindo na encosta.
A vegetação rasteira lá mais acima das rochas também é interessante.

Olha, Lucas, você está de parabéns pelas excelentes fotos que tem postado neste tema "Velho Chico". Eu mesma estou conhecendo melhor locais que só sabia da existência através de leituras, pois são pouco divulgados. Esta linda cachoeira, muito bem captada, é uma delas. Mesmo na área ensombreada distingue-se perfeitamente as saliências das rochas e a diferença de coloração.

Olá Lucas,
Uma linda e impressionante cascata, que apesar de parecer bem alta não diria que tem 186 metros! As escarpas devem ser realmente gigantescas, pois se me dissessem que tinha apenas uns 10 metros eu acreditaria e continuaria a achar um sítio maravilhoso. É curioso como conseguiu aquele efeito de "flu" com 1/200 seg., a água cai realmente com muita força.
Se a luz ao estivesse tão bem controlada, o contraluz estragaria tudo.

a gente percebe o trabalho que a água teve para cortar aquele pedaço lá em cima. gostei deste pov que mostra bem a cascata, que é mesmo bonita. uma pena que a luz estivesse contra você, mas ainda assim vc fez um belo trabalho
