Started on 1781 by Nawab Hyder Ali Khan (Tipu’s father) and completed by Tipu Sultan built in the year of 1791 the Tipu’s Summer Palace - now maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India, is situated in Bangalore.

Tipu Sultan, named the place “Rash-e-Jannat” which means the abode of happiness and the envy of heaven'. The name inscribed by him on the wooden wall of the palace can be seen even today.
The palace is made of luxurious rosewood, tick wood and exclusive sandalwood from Mysore forest for its heavenly fragrance. It has been painted with maroon and golden paint. Thus gives the interior of the palace a classic look and fantastic aromatic environment.
