Photographer’s Note
The Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II (National Monument of Victor Emmanuel II) or Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland) or "Il Vittoriano" is a monument to honour Victor Emmanuel, the first king of a unified Italy, located in Rome, Italy. It occupies a site between the Piazza Venezia and the Capitoline Hill. The monument was designed by Giuseppe Sacconi in 1895; sculpture for it was parceled out to established sculptors all over Italy. It was inaugurated in 1911 and completed in 1935.
The monument, "chopped with terrible brutality into the immensely complicated fabric of the hill", is built of pure white marble from Botticino, Brescia, and features majestic stairways, tall Corinthian columns, fountains, a huge equestrian sculpture of Victor Emmanuel and two statues of the goddess Victoria riding on quadrigas. The structure is 135 m (443 ft) wide and 70 m (230 ft) high. If the quadrigae and winged victories are included, the height is to 81 m (266 ft).The base of the structure houses the museum of Italian Reunification. (Wiki)

Hello Asa,
I believe that I saw this monument in the photographs of “clementi”. The moved back and low point of view makes it possible to entirely describe it and of him given broadth. The inclusion of the life is rather pleasant. The light is exceptional. Cheer.
Have a nice day

Hi Asa,
This is really a very impressive building but in a city like Rome it has some problems to compete! It is not really the most beautiful building here but your capture is certainly very good and shows it in its context!
Kind regards

Hello Asa,
Good details in the capture of this impressive piece of architecture!
The colour palette works well with the intensely blue sky as background for the different shades of grey...
Quite a monument it is..!

High!
It's so very unusal and impressive place! And a very good photo of it - surely it have to be something very big and, by the way, I like such architectural style.
And I like low POV alaways!

Hi Asa,
The presence of the people has an effect of scale. The point of view is allowing us to distinguish the details and colors of the architecture of Victor Emmanuel monument. It is clear and precise. the quality of the light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

watching this photo I turn mad.
Because I made for sure 2 thousand photos of Roma, and all photos are gone with my external HDD, which for God's sake broke down...
A nice reminder your photo, which I like a lot.
