Photographer’s Note
Plaza de Quintana, behind the Cathedral of Santiago, is accessible directly from the cathedral through the Puerta Santa.
On the opposite side of the cathedral, the great wall of granite of the Convent of San Paio stands, with 48 windows closed with grates, and founded in the ninth century by Alfonso II to guard the tomb of Santiago, just discovered.
