Photographer’s Note
Trekking down to Gaumukh fom Gangotri (about 20 km) includes night halt at a place called Bhojbasha which is roughly 14 km from Gangotri. As the trek advances the terrain gets wilder and rougher. The trek route is barely a few feet wide strewn with rocks and pebbles. While river ganges flows on the right side, a number of peaks unfold through the mystic fog as one advances.
Here the Bhagirathi group of peaks can be seen through a foggy afternoon light.
