A sunset looking west towards Japan, many thousands of kilometres away, over the horizon. Taken on the big hill, overlooking the northern side of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

I like the attractive position of the sun and the incoming reflection of the sun on the water, relative to this headland; excellent exposure, pity we cannot see the Japanese coast back there...

Hello Chris,

The sun creates an effect rather evocative of a focused projector lamp, rather than the isotropic light one normally sees. Meanwhile, the panoramic view of the Pacific suggests the curvature of the earth. What I remember of the location is the wild wind, much like on Pele in Oahu, which you might also have experienced in your recent visit to Hawaii.

Hi Chris,

The sunset is giving nice colors to the sky and the sea. The reflection of the rays of the sun on the water is an asset to the composition. The point of view takes our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the photo. Well done, have a nice day.
