Land of Red Soil Photo

Photographer’s Note

Often called the "Land of red soil", Birbhum is one of the most unique districts in West Bengal,India. The climate here is dry and extreme, the soil is red and hard, the people are simple and colourful. Birbhum is well known for its rich culture, fairs and festivals. I started my photography right from here and nothing inspires so much than Birbhum. Its almost 5-6 years I am doing a project for my SOUL and hope someday I can expose this beautiful world in front of all.

Hi Partha,

My city also has a red soil. Beautiful picture with the oxcart bathed by the afternoon sun. Nice colors, great details.

What a wonderful shot. I love the low horizon, the splendid sky, the balance between the cart and the walking figure and the stunning colors (even though the soil seems more brown than red).

Hello Partha,

This is a really, really great picture. I've seen a few very good ones today, but this must be the favorite of today's TE session. I like the low composition, the low light falling in from the right and those wonderful clouds which add an almost metaphycial sense of drama to it all. Excellent work!

A really great shot here...with the stunning clouds in the distance and this cart and young man traveling by...a timeless and beautiful scene. Very nicely done.

Splendid work Partha, just splendid. It's in the postition of the man on the right in relationship with the cart...the distance creates air, room through which we see the landscape and the SKY...we get an idea on the distance yet to travel
