Photographer’s Note
To grow well, sunflowers need full sun.
They grow best in fertile, moist, well-drained soil with a lot of mulch.
In commercial planting, seeds are planted 45 cm apart and 2.5 cm deep.
Sunflower oil, extracted from the seeds, is used for cooking, as a carrier oil and to produce margarine and biodiesel, as it is cheaper than olive oil.
In the Southern part of Portugal (Alentejo), sunflower fields are becoming more common each year. Vast fields painted of yellow are a great vision and are a wonderful theme for anyone that loves photography as well as nature.

That's a really peachy image of a sunflower - so crisp and bright and saturated. I really like the composition. Regards, TW

Hi Miguel, there's an excellent harmony of colours in your composition, which makes it an eye-catcher photo. Apparently, the Alentejan plains which were covered by wild yellow flowers during winter and early-spring is now full of sunflowers. Congratulations. Tolga

Hello Miguel,
Not ther first photo of sunflowers on this site but this one catches the attention because of its composition with one flower standing proudly and sharply out of the crowd...

Paul
