Photographer’s Note

Seen in the hamlet of Cumond in the commune of Cumond-Saint-Antoine.

Cumond-Saint-Antoine is a commune in the Dordogne départment in South-West France. It encompasses the former pre-Revolutionery parishes of Cumont and Mirand, part of that of Saint-Privat and part of the commanderie of Saint-Antoine. Formerly know simply as Cumond, the commune received its present name of Cumond-Saint-Antoine in 1924.

The current population is around 360. Apart from the usual church, it also boasts an 18th century château and a manor house dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. Both are listed historic monuments.

Bonjour Stephen ,
C'est juste un mur , mais je l'aime beaucoup , avec son belle appareillage de pierres claires qui contrastent avec les tuiles rouges , et le joli bouquet de fleurs à ses pieds . Le ciel est magnifique , aussi .
Par contre , j'aurais peut être cadré différemment , pour que l'angle du mur soit sur au tiers droit , ou bien au tirs gauche de l'image .

Good lighting contrasts with excellent sharpness & a nice splash of colour added by the wildflowers at the base of the stone walls corner. Excellent warm cold colour contrasts, too. Tfs!

Un bel angle de mur étonnamment décoré par les tuiles, l'herbe, et surtout ces fleurs. Le cadrage est agréable, cette image simple est bien différente des architectures. Une belle idée, un joli résultat. Bravo.

Just a wall and...absolutely fabulous sky;) Good managment of light give nice, warm color of the wall and especially nice contrast well collected. This is very simple, but smart composition I must say.

Hi Stephen,
A fine study of details here. A very simple but still very good photo, sometimes you don´t need more! When I see something like this, just stones put on top of each other, I always think of the actual persons who once did the actual work of placing the stones here. Quite fascinating...

une image que l'on pourrait dire "simple" mais bien au contraire, je trouve ton cadrage excellent avec l'angle de ce mur , de belles pierres et juste ces fleurs là, dans l'angle;beaucoup de recherches dans cette photo

Just a wall for sure but you shot it at the perfect angle catchings the wildflowers growing at the corner.
Love how the richly textured wall and orange roof blend with this lovely sky.
