Photographer’s Note

Pals is a municipality in the Spanish province of Gerona, located in the region of Lower Empordà.
La Costa Brava, the rugged coastline of the province of Girona, this medieval village has a few miles from its maritime profile. Its historic center is built on a hill surrounded by plains, that it was originally marshland. Have to go back to the ninth century to find the first written documents that speak of this population, which belongs to the era castle.
The best way to go Pals is lost by its medieval streets, but before that is worth close to a fortified house of the fifteenth century, Museum of Underwater Archeology. Among other curiosities, we can know the history of wines and champagnes of Catalonia, through the permanent exhibition displaying.

Bonjour Charo ,
bravo

Hola Charo,
I think all three pictures show very beautiful corners in this interesting village.
I see it is discovered by tourists: on the third photo we can see that postcards are sold there.
For me the main picture is the most beautiful. I like the composition and the POV showing two arches. Further there are so many nice and interesting details: the balcony, the windows with a little reflections, the ivy, the street lantern, the textures of the walls, the cobblestones and most of all: Very good to have included that bird (pigeon ?) in the upper left corner.
Best regards, Paul

Bonsoir Charo,

Hola Charo,
The cobbled curving medieval street, converging between the buildings, the archway — superb composition in a subdued lighting. Well done.

Hello Charo,
A fine composition of this lovely street winding its way under the arches and past the beautiful stone buildings. Looks a calm and peaceful place and somewhere to linger out of the midday sun. The tones and textures are beautifully rendered under a nice soft light.

Hello Charo,
Your photo gives a great sense of what it must feel like to lose oneself in the narrow streets. Inclusion of the pigeon is a great touch. I imagine that your lighting is pretty realistic. However, graphically, I think your well-composed and beautifully detailed shot could benefit from being a lttle brighter (see my WS). Very nice work.

Mary

Hola Charo,
Your positioning to capture this street and buioldings with the cobblestone road is beautifully chosen. The eye meanders through the scene as does the street, and one never tires of visiting each segment of the street scene that you have offered before us.
One of your best images for me, your eyes have chosen to see beyond the architectural significance of this scene and welcomes the audience into your walk within.
Beautiful...

Hola, amiga Charo,
Bonita foto.
Un abrazo para los dos,
Pili y Josep

Hello Charo,
the curved lines of arches above the lane, doors and windows are intersting, the POV is very good showing exactly as much as needed to feel the medieval atmosphere.

Hola Charo.
Bien visto!

Hola mi amiga Charo,
This is skillful view of nostalgic alley that full with beauties. I liked arch and portico with your experienced addition of next door and S curve of path. The complementary posts are very nice especially with their small balconies and gardens. Congratulations.
Saludos cordiales,
