Photographer’s Note

Well, this picture was taken a few months ago in a small village in Burgos.

There are a few places around this village with holes in the rock. Holes like this one.
Can you imagine what is this?
If you don't know, don't worry, I won't answer today but you will see the answer in one of my next posts.

There is one only cue: they were in old villages what have disappeared... and don't care about the water, the day before was rainning.

Company, aquest forat forma part d'una de les Necropolis que abunden a la zona, però el seu origen es un tant controvertit, s’hi barregen les teories que atribueixen el seu origen, a una tribu prehistòrica d’adoradors del sol (d’aquí que la orientació de totes elles sigui cap a l’Est, es a dir cap al lloc on surt el sol), o be la que s’atribueix als musulmans la seva construcció, durant l’època del domini de la península per part d’aquest poble, d’aquí el nom de “tumbas de los moros”, que es com se les coneixien (i encara ara son dites d’aquesta manera) per la gent de la regió.

Could it be a trough for animals to drink out of? You have got us all intrigued. I like the creative way you have framed the image so the perspective leads us to the autumn colours in the background.

Hola Carlos,
després de veure la teva última foto, i de saber que aquests forats són unes curioses sepultures a la roca, he de dir que m'agrada més aquesta foto. Perquè la roca ens ofereix un fort contrast respecte dels colors de tardor als arbres, i perquè els reflexes a l'aigua aporten un maco grafisme a la composició.
A més, l'angle de l'enquadrament i el punt de vista tan baix juguen amb la perspectiva amb eficàcia.
Bona feina.
