Photographer’s Note
City Distortion
I dedicate this image to those who left TE in the last time.
I do understand them, but …….
IB doesn’t communicate well and through that a lot of misunderstandings and rumours are circulating. (why don’t they use the forum Announcements more often?)
The introduction of the new lay out was too quick and dirty and not well considered.
The moderators delete pictures often arbitrary without proper explanation and without discussion and even punish members like some bad educators punish their children.
But I think we can fight against all these imperfections with HUMOUR. YES WE CAN.
Too much disturbance leads to distortion.
Distortion
I need more attention and less admiration
I can make concessions for your opposition
don't try to reform me
and destroy my ego
so please now let me be
the only one i know
do you want me?
I’ll find solutions for your adaptation
you'll get in the action, well that's my profession
don't try to reform me
and destroy my ego
so please let me be
the only one i know
do you want me?
think of your position
before i find my salvation
don't try to reform me
you won't destroy my ego
so please please let me be
the only one i know
will you want me?

Hehe, I like your idea for the frame... Lovely distortions in the reflection, curved and colorful...

Great shot taken from an interesting angle. Aside from the cool reflection, I like how you've used the window frame as a real frame for the shot.

Hello Rob,
I like this 'distorted city' very much. It's a very nice composition of colours and shapes and the frame is an excellent and appropriate idea.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Rob,
This is a humorous view of The Hague, didn't look quite like this the last time I was there..!
By the way, maybe it did after visiting a number of your pleasant "bierstuben" (don't know the Dutch name)...
A colourful street scene!
Greetings,

Hi Rob,
You are a real master with these colourful, distorted reflections. What can I say? I like it a lot and I find it very inspired.
And I couldn't agree more with you about the problems here in TE. Too often, the only way to cope with "serious" issues is humour, so why bother ourselves with this site that we use to share our hobby? After all, do those issues have a real impact on the use we make of this site? I think that one of the things that makes people react so emotionally is that people feel that they should be invited to participate in the management of a site where they invest so much time, hearing their ideas and suggestions. The (sad?) reality is that this is more of a privately owned bar than a club and the community only exists on this side of the counter. Now we found that the owner isn't such a sympathetic guy sometimes, namely because he doesn't talk much. So what? Who cares, as long as he keeps things going, we can still enjoy our beers at the tables?

José

Hello Rob,
Excellent framing work! Distortion, especially the tram brings a nice punch to the image, you have captured the perfect moment, the cyclist is on the face of the tram.

Hi Rob,
Great reflections, all the city's atmosphere can be felt there. I love the colour combination of red, blue yellow and greem that dominates all the main elements. Perfectly composed and framed.

Another eyes catching distorsion. Here the original objects are more easy to identify, but the result is again very original.
All the best,

Hallo Rob,
Echt is voor u, wat wij overslaan heeft u gezien en meteen een foto van genomen.
Dit is zeer mooi gedaan, zeker de vervormingen zodat men de echtheid van de weerspiegeling kan waarnemen.
Goed foto werk Rob, bedankt.

Hi Rob,
Great distortions. In particular I like the bus. The group of people to the left is also great. Excellent framing. Some colourful t-shirts contributes to the beauty of this picture. TFS and have a nice evening!

Fijn weekend,
Bert

Hi Rob,
It feels like I should stop drinking! Quite psychedelic reflections, smoothly curved contrasting with the straight frame.
Well spotted

Bonjour Rob.
J'aime beaucoup cette photo qui nous montre un monde que notre vision déforme pour en faire une œuvre d'art. Les couleur et les formes semblent sortir d'un monde imaginaire.
Une réussite !

We can do it, Rob!
Agree with your comments. I like the picture, due to the vivid colours and also of course the stange effect. I never took LSD, but....The window was not flat.
Good potograph eye to detect this everyday scene
