Photographer’s Note

Port Racine is known as the smallest port of France. Situated at the very end of Cotentin (Normandy), it's a cute place with those little boats hanging on their web... but it was formerly an historical place !

It was the place François Médard Racine, privateer of century 18, captain of L'Embuscade (meaning The Ambush") chose as "his" port. When the tide was OK, he was leaving for Guernesey, crossing the route of ships and enjoying their merchandises !
