Photographer’s Note
10-12 hours per day, 6 days a week.... this is the normal duty hours of a brick field worker in India. The payment varies from Rs 60-80 ($1.5 to $2) per day. There are plenty of child labours and woman workers found in most of the brick field factory.I met with this woman at a Brick field Production factory in West Bengal,India. She was waiting for the weekly payment which give her a financial freedom and she can serve her family by purchasing food for her children and family.

Hello Partha,
That's a very powerful gaze you have captured.
And the choice of B&W is perfect! It adds such depth to the image.

Hello Partha,
this for me has emotional impact as I return the gaze of this beautiful woman. That her youth and beauty is being spent in the brick fields seems such a waste of a life.Black and white works well here and I your tight crop is one I like. This deserves far more attention than it has received.
regards,
Bev
