Photographer’s Note

I don't know if they were sisters, but they looked very much alike. The scene tooked place inside the Blue Mosque, in Istanbul, in the place reserved for women to pray. Maybe I was invasive by taking this picture, but I was really moved by the scene, they seemed to be really the one with the other, sharing a pray, and sharing so many other things...

As for the technical features of the picture, the light was not at all good, no tripode, so not really good definition, but well...

This very pensive pictures is very nice and intense. I like how you captured them unexpectedly. That is much better then arranged pictures. Very good use of available light. Nice colors and good DOF. Well done

welcome back. it's a pretty long time I haven't seen any photos from you.
it's true....they are very similar!

I like their devotion, the silent atmosphere here.
I also agree on your choice to have a diagonal POV to include both the colourful carpet and the white marble

que para ser una toma improvisada sin trípode
te ha quedado de lujo .... los colores y sobre todo

An superb scene of life in this famous city very well colected. The atttitudes of the two young girls are very well collecetd. Good balalnce in the composition too and excellent managment of light. An excellent photowork.

Momento muy bello, una gran intimidad. El enfoque es excelente, la luz dulce pero presente.

Hola, Maria,

Most of the points have already been made. But I'll reiterate what seems most important to my eye.

I like the "in the moment" character. It is enhanced by the less than perfect sharpness. So, technically, I think the execution is well matched to the subject.

The light coming from behind the girls works superbly. (Like God looking over their shoulders...)

Visually, I find my eyes strongly drawn to the geometric pattern on the wall above the girls. This strong regular pattern just above their heads serves almost like an arrow, drawing our attention to the girls.

And, I agree with Patrick. Too bad about the bag on the left. But that is a minor point.

A beautiful shot! Despite the light coming from the back you were able to give definition to the features of the faces. The dark side of the photo emphasizes the wondrous light you captured.

I like the soft light coming in from the side, also highlighting the beauty of the carpet. You caught the moment well. I would have been tempted to crop some of the dark space on the right, but that's just a personal preference. A beautiful image.

there is a nice light and warmth about this image. The closeness and companionship of the girls with their heads bent and the light behind them offers a reflective atmosphere.The warm colours and patterns of the carpet contrast with the geometry patterns above them. You did well to get this shot in the circumstancves.
