Photographer’s Note

Hi there,

I'm sure many of you would like to see the scenery where they recorded the famous production . Well I have seen it without realising it was actually the place! We've gone to another day trip outside Dublin just to enjoy the nice weather. We drove as far as Trim, co. Meath. And there is this lovely place called Trim Castle.

Now few lines about the photo and why does it look this way. My intention was to make the scene fairytale-like impression, therefore I used ND400 filter and increaded the exposure time to 15sec.

Trochę nuda, bo nie ma na co ponarzekać, a ja z PL jestem...więc...

Hi Dariusz,
I had heard Braveheart had been partly recorded in Northern Ireland, but I didn't know it a part was recorded in Ireland ! Nice point of view and good composition. Not sure I appreciate the effect in the sky, too long exposure I think.

hej Darku,
tak duzego kompleksu starych budowli w Irlandii to ja jeszczc nie widzialem musze przyznac. Mostek na poczatku, potem jakies ruiny, nastepnie jakas forteca w centrum, a zza niej wyglada jeszcze cos w rodzaju kosciola?! Bardzo ladnie pokazane. Dobra robota.

This is a fantastic shot of this great scene. You used the path and bridge to lead the eye into the nicely. The lighting and colors are great and the sharpness and DOF are outstanding. The sky is great and adds a nice backdrop for the scene.

Nioe widziałam filmu, więc mi to miejsce nic nie mówi, ale podoba mi się. Fantastyczny widok, podoba mi sie ten stary mostek przybrany kwiatami. Fajne ruiny, uwielbiam takie. Ciekawe niebo.

Ruiny wspania³e, bardzo sugestywne, rzeczywi¶cie przywodz± na my¶l film ,, Waleczne Serce''. Trochê przesadzili z tym cukierkowym mostkiem - nie bardzo on tu pasuje.
Niesamowite te niebo, ale takie jak pamiêtam sprzed 3 lat, czêsto bywa³o w Irlandii.

interesujace zamczysko, mury obronne troche zrujnowane, dramatycznie wyszlo niebo. Ciekawe parametry przy uzyciu szarego filtru, mocno przyciemnil skoro czas ekspozycji wyniosl 15 sek.

Czesc Darku,
wspaniale zdjecie. Najbardziej podoba mi sie jak uzyles tej drozki: po prostu swietny ksztalt, bombowo skomponowane, w ogole tego nie zauwazylem bedac tam na zywo.
Ruiny dosyc takie sobie jak to ruiny ale Ty fantastycznie wykorzystales otoczenie.
Swietna praca rowniez z chmurami: doskonale wykorzystane pod HDRek zeby chmury wzmocnic: po prostu swietny material do tego typu obrobki.
Calosc po prostu bombowa. Nawet lepiej ze pod slonce bo gdyby bylo ze sloncem to efekt chmur nie bylby az tak ciekawy.
Ten fitr tez jest boski: rzeczywiscie zadnych ludzi w okolicy nie widze...
Fajnie tez ze zlapales jeszcze kosciol za zamkiem -to wzbogaca zarys horyzontu.

Hello Darek,
A splendid composition of this castle. All the elements are nicely placed and the curving road passing over the bridge helps draw the viewer into the scene. The image has a very pleasing mood to it engendered by the use of the filter and the long exposure time. Very good colours and superb sharpness.

Ale miejsce!Przepiekne ruiny zamku na tle fantastycznego nieba.Swietny efekt uzyskales filtrem i dlugim czasem naswietlania.Irlandia rzeczywiscie jest urzekajaca i piekna.Poznajac ja poprzez twoje zdjecia bede wiedzial gdzie sie udac gdy kiedys sie tam wybiore.A mam coraz wieksza ochote.

As with everyone else, a great photo; depth of field, path, bridge to castle, detail and dramatic sky.

One of my hobbies is to photograph specific places in the American West which have been filmed in movies.
Your connection to Braveheart makes this photo even more special.

Czad wykop i wypas, jeśli o mnie chodzi.
Byłem w Trim (to tylko 20km od mojego domu) jeszcze z moim Olkiem i żadne zdjęcie nie nadaje się do pokazania publicznie.
Piękny POV znalazłeś, moje serdeczne gratulacje.

Another very nice shot of a castle really capturing its context very well - beautifully rendered and a really fine landscape composition - I hadn't realised either that Braveheart was partly shot in Ireland.....we learn something every day!
