Photographer’s Note

Ojizo-sama, known as Jizo or Ksitigarbha, is seen as the guardian of children. These thousand Jizo statues are dedicated for children at Zojo-ji temple, which is introduced by a big name on TE.
I have continued respecting Ojizo-sama since my childhood. They also seem praying even for the future of TE.

What a view! Your point of view creates an enomous depth into the somehow touching scenery. A really intriguing photo - even in the small version. In combination with the note a contribution truly in terms of TrekEarth!

A nice photo you are presenting here. It is colorful, new for my european eye and well balanced in this square crop. It makes me think about the movies of Miyasaki like Chihiro.
You succeeded to present us a non well known piece of Japan.

こんにちは Hisashi. A fine deep perspective along this lineup of jizo statues, well contrasted and vividly colorful. A beautiful introduction to this piece of Japanese culture, well captured.

This practice and belief do not have an austere aspect. These coloured figurines are pleasant to look at, and cause the meditation. The photograph is built in order to obtain a pleasant depth. Colors and clearness are perfect. Cheer.

I like this detail, it is a better POV than the one you linked to, at least for me. I, too, like the melting colors from foreground to the background. My eyes are drawn right down the line. Really a nice shot.
