Photographer’s Note
Trondheimsfjorden is Norway’s third longest fjord with 130 km and is located to Central Norway, named after the city of Trondheim that is situated by the fjord.
This is one of the two ferries crossing the fjord in a continuous schedule, connecting the city with the Fosen Peninsula we can see in the background.
The bow is already lifted to save time, as the ferry approaches the dock!
The vessel we see here is M/F Trondheim (LGEF), certified for 124 cars and 315 passengers. M/F Trondheim is 96.95 m long and 15.50 m wide, and was delivered from Kaldnes Mek Verksted December 17 1992.
WS Ferry image shows the same vessel in a distance.
A couple of my distinguished critiques mention the rails as an obstacle I’d be better off without… I assume what they really want is something like the workshop image Ferry 2?
--------------------------
I feel bad now…
Remember the squirrel from my last posting? I’m afraid I have made the poor animal a chocolate addict, willing to do anything for a bite..!
WS Squirrel is a vidcap showing the little creature trying to figure out how to get his paws on the chocolate inside the window!

Hello Pablo,
Beautiful catch of sight on these heavy lorries of the sea which allow with one good weather like here, to make, moment of a crossing, a beautiful cruising… A photograph which recalls me, for my part, a crossing animated to connect Brittany to Porthmous in England during the storm of 1988 !!! Well seen Pablo, and thank you still to propose us from your friend the squirrel in WS…
With all my friendships and very good Sunday,

very good catch of the giant. I like its placement in the frame. The horizon line in the fisrt third makes the sky also an interesting subject. Lighting and colors are natural and pleasant. Well done!

hi Pablo
A long time since I see your post here.
And this post makes it worthwhile to come back to your gallery. Very nice capture of the ferry landing, and you know how to give a nice composition here.
I really wish we have such a ferry in Malaysia again. We had them in 1980s and I took a ride across the South China Sea with my car but the operation lost money and the government closed it down. Not sure about the ferry but it was from Europe refurbished, maybe from Germany or Holland.
Good work.

Hi Pablo,
Beautiful light and beautiful colors in this capture. I like the sharpness of the image that allows us to see all the details of the dock and of the ferry.
It is interesting to see the prow raised before coming to the dock, to save time, and you explain it perfectly in your note.
A good work.

Thanks for your last visit.
With such an open mouth, the Lady appears exhausted after crossing the bay!
Impressive giant modern work (that don't seems very polluting) welcomed by dock lamps standing to attention.
Shame on you for spoiling baby squirrels!

hej Pablo
I just gave critics on Gerts Photo from A grecce ferry and saw that you had a similiar photo. but with the differnce that this has an other tone, in a way bluesier tone like the way you framed the image witht those lamp poles and in a way shrinken the boat. the snow on the fjells in the background give extra flavor to the picture.

Hei Pablo,
A really well-composed picture and taken from an unusual POV. I like the inclusion of the lamp-posts and the fences. They might be a bit ugly but you have done skilfully. It is a bit unusual pictures in your gallery. I guess that you might run of of farm views in your surroundings. With such a lot of coast in Norway I would be surprised if this is the first one in a series. TFS and have a fine week!

Hi, Pablo. The lamp posts frame the ferry well and create a good perspective. The upper part of the boat stands out well against the sky. But I do not like the railings in the foreground too much, I think they block the view a little. But this is only my humble opinion.
Have a nice evening,

Hi Pablo,
The lamposts have a graphical effect, they are also framing well the ferry boat. The point of view leads our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the photo. The light has a good effect on the colors of the scenery. Have a nice day from Yellowknife.

Hello Pablo -
I am not sure where I stand on this image. All of the technical stuff is right on the money, but the composition leaves me a bit flat. I think what I am really reacting to is the multiple railings between the viewer and the subject. They don't seem to have any impact on the scene other than to block details of the subject. Now with that said ... How would I fix it? Haven't got a clue! Technically it is excellent; compositionally it is questionable IMHO. With the composition in the back of my mind I am leaning toward a middle smiley, but then again I am the only dissenter so how can everyone be wrong.
Thank you for sharing.

Very nice one, even though the fence is kind of blocking the view of the overall of the ferris. I kind of wish you could get closer to avoid them and have a better view of it, but the a lamps work well in the composition and the path lead to it also is nice, the back ground of snowy mountain give the essence of the place and the temperature. Good sharpness and excellent clarity.

Hi Pablo. Nice series of photos. I took a couple of ferry rides myself recently down to our South Island and Stewart Island, one larger and one smaller that this. Nice photo, good sharpness and colours and though the rails do impose a little they don’t really distract unduly. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Pablo,
As Way notes, the light poles and walkway do a nice job of framing the ferry in this post, and as Paul notes, the three together make a great series. My favorite is the open mouth approaching the dock for its sense of movement.
And your poor squirrel buddy, looks like he's sitting on your bike; very charming.

Hello Pablo,
my very first impression: the photo is full of strange "metallic" colours! a bit "dry", crisp, clear... maybe these are often the colours of the North?
Interesting composition; very good photo, a bit nostalgic (to me).

PS. I don't mind the railings in front of the ferry, by the way...
PPS. about the chocolate-addicted squirrel: VERY cute photo in the Workshop ;) But if the squirrel really eats chocolate, don't make it too addicted to it: sweet things are very bad for animals' health!

Hello Pablo, Even for a squirrel I think it is not very difficult to become a Chocolate addict. A very clear and pin sharp image with excellent natural colours of this ferry and it's surroundings. All WS photos are very nice and worthy of posting on their own, in the end it depends on what you like & the message you wanted to convey, I think,
The squirrel, don't worry too much when you are gone and there is no more chocolate is addiction will also go & he can get back to his normal healthy diet. ;-)).

Dear Pablo
WS no I do not think that should be done. Your picture is o.k., just there are different views how to take a picture. I personally would go to the pier, where the ferry will arrive and take the same picture but with the crowd waiting for the ferry or even better leaving the ferry. I have no idea if that is technically possible. Moreover I have never cared about rails or what so ever, it is there so let it be there. Sometimes there is no way around it.
Returning to your picture your light and color management is fine, as is the sharpness. The sky is nice.
Well done
Best regards
Urs
