Pressure tower Photo

Photographer’s Note

The pressure tower at Slowianski Square in Malbork was built in 1905 together with the establishment of the Neoghotic water supply system in the town. The tower was built of bricks, on a high eight-sided stone base. Cylindrical tower divided on the base sides with narrow pilasters. Three-story internal part; clear span stories with the remaining and working water tank and circular staircase. The tower was covered with a high, eight-sided roof with a flag with the date 1905 engraved in it. It has a clock with an interesting mechanism. The building of the pressure tower at 15 Slowianski Square is an example of very interesting Neoghotic architecture and a still functioning monument of technique.

Wczoraj byłam na wykładzie połączonym ze spacerem o temacie "odbudowa Gdańska" i Gda mógłby wyglądać tam jak Malborskie miasto.

A good composition of this interesting and rather lovely water tower. I like the point of view and the inclusion of the buildings on the right, which give a pleasing balance to the composition. The brickwork is very well rendered with good colours and clarity.

Your excellent note serves well to explain the scene. I would have guessed the tower to be medieval. The red car creates a dramatic color highlight in the well composed, well exposed image.

The red color of the tower arise very well in this vertical image. I like too the framing with the another buildong around the tower. The cars give an interesting idea of the scale of the tower.

Mocny kontrast spowodował, że grafika jest niemal rysunkowa, a to bardzo ładnie pasuje do tematów architektonicznych. Piękny obiekt, kolory rewelacyjne. Bardzo mi sie podoba kolor nieba, które ładnie eksponuje wieżę.

It's a very interesting tower, looks like from the Middle Age, but as you said it's a bit more then 100 years old. Very sharp and detailed with soft colors. Well done
