Brandenburg Gate at 12,90 € Photo

Photographer’s Note

Here you can see Brandenburg Gate, the main symbol of Berlin, on dessert plates. I saw them in a kiosk on Kurfürstendamm, known locally as the Ku-damm. It is one of the most famous avenues in Berlin. This 3,5 kilometres long street with many department stores and shops takes its name from the former Kurfürsten (Electors) of Brandenburg.
These plates - in the best of taste ;-) - show Brandenburg Gate. I think I mustn't introduce it.
These real pieces of art are sold there at a prize of 12,90 € each ...!

Hallo Frank. Diese Art von Souvenir hat eine ganz besondere Qualität. Für die Käufer ist es ein Mitbringsel mit ungewisser Zukunft. Aber immerhin, Berlin mit dem Brandenburger Tor steht im Mittelpunkt. Vielleicht weckt das Tor wieder so etwas wie nationale Gefühle zur Deutschen Einheit. Ein Photo ist dieses Motiv allemal wert. Und ein gutes Bild für TE ist es ebenfalls. Viele Grüße, Wolfgang.

ciao Frank,

Berlin....mein Berlin. Zwischen 1997 und 2006 bin ich 6 mal in dieser Stadt gewesen...und ich habe die geliebt. kein Zweifel.
Ok...das ist ein Art von Souvenir ich kann nicht so moegen...aber was drauf steht...ist unvergesslich mit Schmerzen, Freude und Geschichte verbunden....

denk darueber nach: wenn ich den Tor sehe, dann sehe ich eine Mauer vor ihm....und dann leute auf der Mauer...und dann...keine Mauer mehr...bis zur Freude

Avant tout, c'est ton choix qui me plait Frank. Ta belle photo je la rajoutte dans ma collection des souvenirs dans le monde. Chaque pays a son truc. Hello Frank,
Interesting and rather unusual photo. Tourism is really a big business. I'm not good for business; I was on top of the Berliner Mauer (April 1990) and I didn't bring a single stone of it ;-)
But I got a Flagge von Berlin, with the same Berliner Bär that we see on these plates (of Wappen Berlins).
