Lake Lucerne , also known as the Vierwaldstättersee or "Lake of the Four Forest Cantons," is one of the most beautiful lakes in Switzerland.

With bends and arms reaching from the city of Lucerne into the mountains, some places mountains up to 1,500 m above the lake, and forests coming down to the shore in many places it is certainly a spectacular. This is a large, irregularly shaped lake with approximately 44 sq miles of area which offers beautiful views in every direction, and there are many of those during cruises of the lake, since the boats zigzag across its sparkling surface as they pick up and discharge passengers at villages along the shore.

This shot was taken during my trip to Switzerland last year from a boat cruise on lake lucerne. As the day was bright and sunny people couldn't resist but to come along in their private yachts, and I couldn't keep myself to capture this one.
