Photographers Note
Warszawa (Warsaw), Stare Miasto (Old Town), Podwale street and Piekarska street, monument of Jan Kilinski by Stanisław Jackowski (1936). Jan Kiliński (1760-1819) was one of the commanders of the Kościuszko Uprising. A shoemaker by trade, he commanded the Warsaw Uprising of 1794, an uprising against the Russian garrison in Warsaw. He became a member of Polish provisional government as well. Kiliński was born in Trzemeszno, a minor town in the historical region of Greater Poland. In 1780 he settled in Warsaw, where he became a shoemaking master in 1788. One of the most prominent burghers of the time, he was elected member of the city council three times in a row between 1791 and 1793. During the Warsaw Uprising of 1794, Kiliński formed a unit of National Militia and lead his forces, along with the forces of the regular army, against the Russian occupation forces. On April 19 of that year, following the Russian withdrawal, he signed the Access of the city of Warsaw to the Kościuszko's Uprising and entered the Provisional Temporary Council, a temporary ruling body of the city.

Hello Swiatopelk,
Interesting historical anecdote. The monument seem interesting as well against the warm tones of the older buildings. The light in this image seem fine as is the framing of the scene. Good details. Thanks Swiatopelk :-)

Hello Swiatopelk,
A good composition of this statue of a local hero. I like how you have framed it against the colourful architecture, which helps it to really stand out. Good light and colours and excellent detail.

Piękne kolory, dobre światło i ostrośc.
Pozdrawiam

dear Swiatopelk,
nice light and colors, very clear and good POV,
but the most impreesive thing is this contrast between the brave statue and relaxed people in white parasols.
the history of every country maybe so...
in fine day people think time has been passing peacefully like the fine sky, it is all right.
thank you,
Akihisa

Pozdrawiam

Cześć Światek!
Ładne ujęcie. Szeroki kadr, dobrze widoczne kamienice. U mnie ta pomarańczowa trochę ucięta. Dobra robota!
Pozdrawiam,
